Is this violating any laws....?

Your apartment complex gives you a date that they are coming to inspect your apartment and they put the date, the week of June 13, for example.....but do not come till 2 weeks later and knock on your door to inspect the apartment. How long can they leave something open to come in to your apartment whether you are home or not. What if they do not show up at all, could they 2 months later come in whether you are home or not?
