Ford Focus Speedo not working?

Normally when the VSS is not working the symptons are no speedo and the car cutting out when pulling up to a stop, ive fitted quite a few of these sensors and never heard of that problem of ------ with the speedo, i would go ahead and fit one though and hope for the best, if you intend doing it yourself, theres an awkward little roll pin that holds it in the gearbox, and a right pain to remove due to the access of it, good luck.
