Spindles on a staircase..?

given that i haven't seen the board , so im just guessing, but if its an old house you might find balustrade between the boards?? if the hand-rail is still present, i hav heard of this before........ but if you need to place balustrade and hand rail, its fairly easy i principle , you can buy the balustrade and hand rail ready turned and moulded and its a case of a hammer and precise chisel and fixings, although a tradesman would be a safer option, hope this helps
