How can you use the speedometer in your car and a clock to tell how far you have traveled in your car?

How can you use the speedometer in your car and a clock to tell how far you have traveled in your car if your odometer (Or trip gauge or whatever) is not working? Please no physics equations. I would just like a written explanation. Thanks!!
