It is common in any car when the belt is not tight enough. Tighten it up a bit after loosening the adjusting bolt. Not to tight or it will stress your other pulley's like waterpump and other stuff.

The answer--194,200 miles on it. My 1986 Honda would do the same thing...engines do wear out you know...I sold my Honda to a guy who has the ability to fix the 1986 up, as a vintage. Fix for Dim/dark Digital Odometer GM?

I have a 2000 Chevy monte carlo and my digital odometer went from being occasionally dimmed, to now being completely blacked out. I had a couple of friends told me to add a resistor to the odometer. Is there any fix to get it back on? I would rather not pay the $200 to get it repaired locally, if I can do it myself. Please help. Thanks!
